The life of a researcher, a paper and in one graphic!
Reading this manuscript changed the way I think about my time and work-life balance:
"Successful Faculty Performance in Teaching, Research and Original Creative Work, and Service"
James P. Sampson, Jr., Marcy P. Driscoll, David F. Foulk, and Pamela S. Carroll link
The only thing I would add to the above is Career building (e.g., networking, going to conferences to start new collaborations and promote your work) is also an important dimension of faculty time.

I really liked this graphic describing the many facets of a researcher's work life, its a lot to balance! (if you click the link you can zoom way in),
